Britain’s Prince Charles has tested positive for COVID-19.
A statement on Wednesday morning from his official residence Clarence House the said the 71-year old prince had begun displaying "mild symptoms" on Sunday.
The heir to the British throne is said to be self-isolating and working from home.
He was tested for the virus on Monday with the results released on Tuesday evening.
Prince Charles is said to be “otherwise in good health and has been working from home throughout the last few days as usual.”
His wife Camilla, The Duchess of Cornwall, was also tested for COVID-19.
Her results were negative.
She is said to be also self-isolating at their home separately from Prince Charles.
Both will follow the standard 14-day isolation period.
Prince Charles has had a number of public and private engagements recently.
He is said to have last seen Her Majesty the Queen, his mother, on March 12th.
A statement from Buckingham Palace, the Queen’s official residence said: “Her Majesty the Queen remains in good health. The Queen last saw the Prince of Wales briefly on the morning of 12 March and is following all the appropriate advice with regard to her welfare.”
It is not known if the Queen has also been tested for coronavirus as a result of Prince Charles’s positive test.
