Recent charity auction and A Walk in Her Shoes sponsorships raised close to US$80,000.
Provenance Properties Cayman Islands has recently participated in a number of charitable initiatives to give back to the Cayman community.
In April, the luxury brokerage – the exclusive affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate in the Cayman Islands – hosted its second annual virtual charity auction, benefitting Cayman’s Acts of Random Kindness. In the same month, teams representing Provenance Properties and Camana Bay’s first for-sale residential development, OLEA, participated in the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre fundraiser, A Walk in Her Shoes.
Second annual virtual auction benefitting Cayman’s ARK
The virtual auction, which launched in 2020 as a way to offer community support during the COVID-19 lockdown, raised US$65,000 for Cayman’s ARK. Those funds will be donated to the R3 Cayman Foundation, which in turn will donate an equal amount to Cayman’s ARK and apply the matching funds from the Kenneth B. Dart Foundation to charitable causes of their choosing. The funds donated to Cayman’s ARK will help further its work through its Casa programme and its Reconnect Cayman and MER (Mentor-Educate-Reinforce) initiatives. R3 Cayman Foundation was established in response to the hardship caused by the COVID-19 pandemic as a charitable organisation focused on readiness, relief and recovery in the Cayman Islands.
“We are so grateful for the help and support this auction will offer our programmes,” said Tara Nielsen, founder of Cayman’s ARK. “We are still operating an emergency relief response for those impacted by the economic and social effects of COVID-19. ARK provides food, utilities, housing and healthcare relief for COVID-19-impacted families and relies 100% on private-sector donations; an event such as this online auction enables us to continue our vital emergency relief work and maintain ARK’s other invaluable programmes.”
Sixth annual A Walk in Her Shoes
At the sixth annual A Walk in Her Shoes, held on Thursday, 22 April in Camana Bay, more than 30 men made up Team Provenance Properties and Team OLEA (the event sponsor) and walked a mile in heels to raise awareness and funds for the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre. The team members’ sponsorships raised over US$14,000.
“We are proud to sponsor this energetic annual event in support of the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre,” said Provenance Properties’ Sales Specialist Shanice Ebanks, who represents a number of homes for sale at OLEA. “When I share information about OLEA with people, one of the first things I tell them is that living at OLEA is being part of a strong community – not just with your neighbours but with all of those who visit and are a part of the Camana Bay Town Centre.”
“Giving back to the community is an important value for our Provenance Properties team,” said Broker Jackie Doak. “We assist clients in acquiring luxury properties and it is equally vital to us that we help those in need in the Cayman Islands to have a safe and secure home. This is at the heart of what organisations such as the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre and Cayman’s ARK do, and to that end we support their work whenever we can.”
