Reports have emerged of a fake account claiming to be from Minister O’Connor Connolly approaching members of the public about a cash grant from the department of health and human services. The account goes on to offer the individual a link to apply.
The information contained in the message is incorrect and poses a potential risk to individuals who go on to click the link.
The public are reminded to look to official sources for information on government financial support.

It is a crime to produce and share disinformation in the Cayman Islands. The matter has been shared with the Chief Information Security Officer for the Cayman Islands Government and RCIPS for investigation.
