Raul Nicholson-Coe announced today that he will be a candidate in the upcoming election on May 26th 2021.
He will be running as an Independent candidate for the Member of Parliament in the West Bay South constituency.
“I am extremely proud and excited about the opportunity to represent the people of this constituency. My focus will be to ensure that we address the issues that have prevented the progression of our Caymanian community. This is a unique constituency as it encompasses a large part of the hospitality industry as well as a socio-economically diverse set of residences. While this is unique, it creates the opportunity to develop solutions that can address the economic and social issues that are affecting us in these extremely difficult times. It’s important to realize the issues faced by one Caymanian is not the same for all, however through regular collaboration with the community I hope to improve the lives of those in my constituency.”
Nicholson-Coe’s key focus over the next several weeks will be to meet and canvas the entire West Bay South constituency to get insights on the issues that are affecting them. Raul added, “During these difficult times it is important we get a better understanding of the social, economic, education, employment, housing and health issues that our community is facing. Policies to address these issues cannot be developed without engaging the entire community.”
He will be providing voters with comprehensive strategies and plans to address the most important issues which will include:
• Cost of living
• Employment opportunities & education
• Opportunities for the youth
• A New Approach to Housing
• Post COVID economic and social recovery plan
• Community engagement – post elections • Conservation
• Core values and Cultural Identity
The people of West Bay South want a new approach to political representation in Parliament. Raul Nicholson-Coe humbly asks the people for the opportunity to serve them with bold leadership and implement comprehensive new strategies to address the needs of all the residents within the constituency.
