The Order of the Cayman Islands is a society of honour established under the National Honours and Awards Act, 2021. The Premier by virtue of that office serves as the Chancellor and Principal Companion of the Order. For today’s investiture ceremony, the Chancellor of the Order is wearing the Principal Companion’s collar chain.

Cherished Classics – this category was limited to the top 14 nominations from across all three islands, alive or deceased who have produced artistic and creative work prior to 1960, work which strictly aims to integrate, preserve, bring awareness and educate on culture and heritage of the Cayman Islands and remained popular, cherished and appreciated across multiple generations for their artistic and creative work.
Each honouree will receive a commemorative insignia with caymanite backing and a certificate. In a few cases, an awardee’s family member or representative will accept in their honour.
