Record-Breaking Turnout for the 16th Annual Breast Cancer Foundation Light Up the Night Walk
The Breast Cancer Foundation’s 16th Annual Light Up the Night Walk was another record-breaking success, bringing together over 1,800 participants in a powerful show of support for those affected by breast cancer. The event, held on March 1, 2025, raised a record amount in donations, further strengthening the Foundation’s ability to assist individuals and families facing the challenges of a breast cancer diagnosis.
The much-anticipated moonlit walk, which sees supporters light up the night in pink, was once again led by Her Excellency Governor Jane Owen, who described the event as “a moment to celebrate the courage of breast cancer survivors while offering hope and support to anyone affected.”
This year’s headline sponsor, Island Heritage, continued its steadfast commitment to the cause, playing a key role in making the event such a resounding success. Their support, along with that of many other generous sponsors, donors, and volunteers, ensures that funds raised will go directly toward patient support, education, and advocacy efforts in the Cayman Islands.
“We are absolutely overwhelmed by the incredible turnout and generosity from the community,” said Beverly Edgington, Chief Administrator at the Breast Cancer Foundation. “Each year, Light Up the Night gets bigger and brighter, and we couldn’t do it without the unwavering support of our sponsors, participants, and volunteers. The funds raised will directly impact those battling breast cancer, providing them with the help they need right here in Cayman.”
The Breast Cancer Foundation extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated, donated, and helped organize the event. This overwhelming response is a testament to the community’s dedication to raising awareness, supporting survivors, and working toward a future without breast cancer.
