The President of Rotary Club of Grand Cayman Sunrise Stacy Parke and Community Service Director Marlon Bodden handed over two (2) reclining shower chairs to the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) Director Paulinda Mendoza-Williams and Habbakuk House Manager Dervie Mendoza on the 3rd of May 2021.
The reclining shower chairs are specifically made to assist in caring for persons with disabilities. The shower chairs are healthcare grade PVC tilt-n-space shower chairs that can be adjusted to 7 different positions, it also has dual drop arm secured with safety red straps and are rust proof.
DCFS identified the need for these shower chairs for their facilities late last year when Habbakuk House was being open and the Rotary Sunrise Community Service Directors received quotations from a local medical supplier, who imported and cleared the medical equipment on Rotary Sunrise behalf.
Director Paulinda Mendoza-Williams advised that the shower chairs were needed and will be put to good use. She advised that one of the shower chairs will be utilized at Habbakuk House, which is specially geared towards the resident care for children with disabilities and the second shower chair will be used at Maples House, which provides resident care for adults with special needs.
