RSM Edges NCB Group at St. Ignatius Scramble

The thirteenth St. Ignatius Golf Scramble took place on Friday, March 3rd at the North Sound Golf Club. Twenty-three teams participated on a warm and windy afternoon, which featured some great golf and several fun contests and prizes. Following the competition the golfers received awards, raffle prizes, and a buffet dinner.

The winning team was ‘RSM’, with a net score of 50.4: Andrew Jarvis, Aldo Bernard, Robert Wilson and Calvin Hall. Second place was ‘NCB Group’, with a net score of 51.1: Payten Wight, Alan Wight, Matthew Wight and Ian Wight. Third place was ‘Kings and Peasants’, with a net score of 52.5: Greg O’Driscoll, Karl O’Reilly, Matt Taber and Ruan Van Vuuren. Members of all three teams won gift cards from the pro shop. The ‘YMCA’ team finished with the highest score of the day, earning them a round of golf courtesy of the North Sound Golf Club.

The Closest to the Pin contest was won by Calvin Hall on hole nine and Michael Baulk on hole thirteen. Longest drive winners were Allison Derksen for the ladies on hole two and Payten Wight for the men on hole twelve. The winners received $100 gift cards from Kirk Freeport.

Nicholas Dibb won the putting contest, earning a beautiful men’s watch from Kirk Freeport. He left his 55 foot downhill putt just over 9 inches from the hole. Rob McNabb was second, with his putt just over 15 inches away.

‘Home Gas’ was voted Island Cleaners’ best dressed team, with team members Chris Turrell, Jason Lucraft, John Corallo and Rick Hurlestone. ‘Health City’ took second place. Gareth Thacker was the grand prize winner in the raffle, earning a gorgeous ladies’ watch donated by Kirk Freeport.

Final thanks go out to the North Sound Golf Club and their wonderful staff, and all the corporate teams and players who took part this year. Just over CI $12,000 was raised towards the new multi-purpose sports hall building at St. Ignatius, which is slated for completion in the coming months.
