Just after 6 AM on Saturday morning, 6 March, police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communication Centre where it was reported that a serious collision occurred along West Bay Road in the vicinity of the West Bay Fire Station.
The collision occurred when a red Kia Picante was heading north and a grey Toyota Hiace was heading south, travelling along West Bay Road, collided head-on. Officers from The CIFS attended the scene and assisted in extricating the occupants from the vehicles and EMS transported both drivers to the Cayman Islands Hospital for treatment. Both parties are believed to have sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The incident is being investigated by the Traffic and Roads Policing Unit and investigators are asking anyone with information regarding this collision to call the Traffic and Roads Policing Unit at 649-6254 or the George Town Police Station at 949-4222.
