The St. Ignatius Christmas Fundraiser will be held on Saturday, December 16th. The drawing of the grand prizes will begin at 8:15pm at a special event in the St. Ignatius High School Courtyard. The event is themed “Christmas Cheers” to be held between 7:00 and 9:00pm. It is an opportunity for members of the Catholic Church family in Cayman to come together and celebrate the festive season. The event will feature Christmas Carols singing, Church choirs performing popular Christmas songs, Christmas treats and a great festive atmosphere.
The evening will include the grand prize drawing of CI$25,000, second prize of CI$2500, and third prize of US$2500. The next five prizes are Cayman Airways USD$300 travel vouchers, which can be used towards any Cayman Airways destination. Additional prizes include gift cards from several local restaurants and businesses.
This is a very important fundraiser for St. Ignatius, with net proceeds to benefit both the church and the school families that are on scholarship. The church will invest funds towards facilities improvements in Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac. Part of the proceeds will also support local charity work undertaken by the church. The proceeds to the school’s scholarship fund provide tuition assistance for those families who are unable to afford full school fees.
Tickets cost $25, and they are available at the church offices and from many parishioners. Tickets are on sale at several businesses, including Island Cleaners, and Walkers Road RUBiS. Tickets will also be on sale outside several major supermarkets through December 16th. Tickets will also be available at AL Thompson’s in George Town on December 08, 15 and 16; Cost-U-Less on Dec. 8, 11 and 15 and by the Observation Tower in Camana Bay on December 08, 09 and 16.
Ticket holders do not need to be present to win and all winners will be notified by phone on December 17th and 18th. The prize drawing is always fully audited by KPMG and full results will be posted on the church website, www.ignatius.ky , and Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/StIgnatiusParishCayman .
Several years ago, one of the ticket purchasers summed it all up by saying, “Everyone who buys a ticket is a winner, because we are supporting our young people and the future of Cayman.”
St. Ignatius is most grateful for the community’s support of this event over the past 30 years and we are looking forward to another successful event this year. For more information, please contact the church office on 949-6797.
