I was saddened to hear the news of the recent passing of former MLA John McLean. Mr McLean devotedly served the Cayman Islands, dedicating 24 years of his life to politics.
During his long political career Mr McLean represented the East End in the Legislative Assembly where he promoted new infrastructure on these islands and amongst many things can be credited with bringing telephone lines to the East End. He was a pioneer for development of these wonderful Islands.
He was also a family man. I would like to offer my sincere condolences to his family and friends. He will be remembered for his outstanding service to these islands and will be greatly missed.
The flag at Government House will fly at half-mast on Monday and Tuesday in tribute to Mr McLean.
