Subject: Sterling Dwayne Ebanks Launches Manifesto for West Bay South Candidacy

Election Center 02 Apr, 2025 Follow News

Sterling Dwayne Ebanks

“Independent candidate outlines bold vision focused on community, integrity, and participatory governance.”

“We all realize that for our children and grandchildren to have hope and opportunity for their future, Cayman must have credible, competent, and collaborative representation for all of our people. The impetus for stepping forward as a candidate has been fueled by my conscience. The words ‘If not now, when? If not me, who?’ dictate that we unite. Otherwise, we will have failed future generations of Caymanians who may not be able to find a place to live or even a job or career in their own country. We need representation we can trust.”

He says that “we need a new era of independent thought and collaboration.”

Sterling Dwayne believes that Cayman’s political future will be shaped by coalition governments and independent voices that prioritize people over party lines. With a focus on solutions rather than division, he is committed to bringing reason, integrity, and collaboration to the Parliament.

He strongly advocates for the establishment of district councils, ensuring that communities have a direct voice in governance and decision-making. He is committed to ensuring that every voice in the district — and the nation — is heard.

Sterling Dwayne’s leadership style is rooted in inclusion, thoughtful discourse, and loyal dedication to his country. After almost 20 years as host of Talk Today, his retirement marks the end of an era and signals the beginning of a new chapter —one where his voice will continue to serve the Cayman Islands as a leader ready to make a tangible difference.

Sterling Dwayne Ebanks stands for integrity, community empowerment, and national unity. As West Bay South’s independent candidate, he is ready to lead with wisdom, experience, and a deep love for the Cayman Islands. A man who can be trusted; someone whose word is his bond.

He pledges to put the interests of Cayman and its people first and foremost in representing not only the constituency of West Bay South but the entire Cayman Islands, by improving the quality of life and promoting social and economic balance.

He notes that “Cayman has become somewhat of a victim of its own success. The explosive growth of our population and all the related demands on our society and infrastructure have resulted in a marked decline in the quality of life for many Caymanians in recent years. This must be addressed by restoring trust in government and our institutions to implement balanced, transparent, and fair governance through enhanced policy initiatives and improved legislative frameworks.”

“We need to strive for economic success for all Caymanians, and we should focus on doing what is necessary to ensure that Cayman is a better, happier, safer place to live for ALL: Caymanians, residents, and visitors alike,” he says.

Sterling Dwayne has been at the forefront of national conversations for decades and has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to impartiality, integrity, and meaningful dialogue. He says “that we should be voting on national issues rather than being limited by constituency boundaries.” His candidacy seeks to spark this critical discussion and bring about electoral reform that fosters a more representative democracy.

Sterling Dwayne’s campaign is built upon a vision for a stronger, more self-sustaining Cayman Islands that is focused on championing community, economic growth, and leadership. This will be driven by:

• an initiative aimed at fostering unity and resilience through shared values and collective action;

• a strategy to empower individuals through knowledge, self-sufficiency, and business opportunities, ensuring long-term economic stability; and

• a local think tank dedicated to researching and proposing policy solutions to enhance economic growth and social well-being.
