In celebration of its 10th anniversary, The Wick Candles & Scents is partnering with Ted Green and Adderley Group Ltd. to launch a scholarship opportunity to support a young Caymanian. Founded in 2015, the company is known for its Island Scents Collection inspired by Caymanian heritage.
The US$4,000 scholarship, initially conceived in 2012, will now become a reality, with the age limit for applicants being up to 25 years old in an effort to achieve greater inclusivity. The selection panel includes The Wick Candles & Scents’ founder Kimberley Antonette Conolly, alongside esteemed entrepreneurs Melesia Adderley of Women’s Haven® and Tedrick Green of Ted Green.
They noted that the application process will be simple, focusing on community involvement, key topic essays, an application form, and past academic performance. The scholarship will be offered every two years until 2029, when its frequency will be reevaluated.
“Education is the foundation upon which innovation and entrepreneurship thrive. It equips individuals with the critical knowledge, skills, and courage needed to turn visionary ideas into transformative realities. By providing opportunities, we create the chance to shape the world through excellence, starting with our Beloved Isle Cayman,” said the trio, who were honoured as Innovators of Impact on January 27, 2025, during the National Heroes Day celebration themed Celebrating the Icons of Business and Entrepreneurship.
The scholarship is open to Caymanians pursuing a Tertiary Education.
