The RCIPS and Ministry of Youth, Sports, Culture & Heritage are advising the public of the following road closures, taking place over the next two weekends, to facilitate this year’s Pirate’s Festival activities:
Friday, 10 November – Monday, 13 November
* Albert Panton Street and the eastern section of Cardinall Avenue will be closed from 6:00PM on Friday, 10 November to 6:00AM on Monday, 13 November.
Saturday, 11 November
* Seafarers Way will be closed between Warwick Drive and Fort Street. The intersections of Seafarers Way with Goring Avenue and Shedden Road will also be closed. From 1:00PM to 8:00PM.
Monday, 13 November
* Seafarers Way will be closed between Goring Avenue and Cardinall Avenue. The intersection of Seafarers Way at Shedden Road will also be closed. From 4:00PM to 6:00PM.
Thursday, 16 November - Sunday, 19 November
* Albert Panton Street and the eastern section of Cardinall Avenue will be closed from 6:00AM on Thursday, 16 November to 6:00PM on Sunday, 19 November.
Saturday, 18 November
* Seafarers Way will be closed between Warwick Drive and Fort Street. The intersections of Seafarers Way with Goring Avenue and Shedden Road will also be closed. From 3:00PM to 8:00PM.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution when travelling in these areas during these times, and to obey any traffic signs, barriers, or instructions from officers present.
Bodden Town Man Formally Charged with Eight Offences
A 33-year-old-man of Bodden Town has been formally charged with eight (8) offences following his arrest on 6th November in relation to an incident that took place on 7 October, at a residence located on Keturah Street, George Town, involving a woman known to him.
The man was formally charged with:
* Burglary
* Abduction
* Assault ABH
* Causing Fear or Provocation of Violence
* Damage to Property
* Two counts of Theft
* Taking a Conveyance without the Owner’s Consent
He appeared before the court on 8 November where he was remanded in custody and was due to return to court on Friday 10 November.
