On the forecast track, the center of Grace will continue to move near the northern coast of Jamaica this afternoon and the Tropical Storm is forecast to move just southwest of Grand Cayman late tonight and early Wednesday, eventually approaching the Yucatan peninsula of Mexico late Wednesday or early Thursday.
A Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect for the Cayman Islands and tropical storm conditions are expected within the next 24 hours
A Flood and Marine Warning is also in effect.
Today we can expect partly cloudy skies with a 30% chance of showers during the day, becoming overcast with frequent thunderstorms by this afternoon over the Sister Islands and over Grand Cayman by this evening.
Showers will be heavy at times leading to flooding of low-lying areas.
The winds will be East to northeast 15 to 20 knots at daytime becoming 30 to 35 knots with higher gusts by late night.
Seas will be moderate with wave heights of 3 to 5 feet at daytime, becoming rough with wave heights of 8 to 10 feet by night.
Residents are urged to continue monitoring the development of Tropical Depression Grace.
