We celebrate our 1,000th edition!

The Caymanian Times is proud to celebrate this, our 1,000th issue of the publication, a huge milestone for us.

First launched by publisher, Ralph Lewis, in September 2017, the Caymanian Times came off the back of Cayman Weekly which was launched in March 2013 and published over 300 issues.

The initial publication, Employment Weekly (later named Cayman Weekly) was created as a means of providing Cayman residents with a handy and concise publication dedicated to job advertisements.

The Caymanian Times used the steady success Mr. Lewis had built with the Cayman Weekly to create a much-loved fully rounded newspaper that brought its readers interesting and newsworthy stories, entertainment and education.

Leading up to the pandemic, the Caymanian Times was publishing daily, such was the thirst for the newspaper. While the effects of the pandemic diminished the number of papers to just twice a week, the newspaper never stopped publishing, even during those difficult times. In fact, everyone working on the newspaper was determined that it should be kept going because it was such an important resource for the Cayman community, at a time when information about the pandemic was so crucial. We were a steady and reassuring voice in a sea of uncertainty.

Further events have sought to put even more of a strain on the newspaper, but Mr. Lewis and his team still have that determination to bring news to their readership, no matter how difficult the economic climate.

It is a testament to our amazingly loyal readers and our wonderfully steadfast advertisers that the newspaper is able to continue its twice a week publication of excellent local news stories, insightful features and light-hearted entertainment. We thank the entire Cayman Islands, including our dedicated writers and vendors for their support and look forward to creating another 1,000 editions!

We have included a sample collection of our front page publications that enlightened and entertained our readers
