A woman, age 34 of George Town, has been arrested and formally charged with several offenses in relation to a series of theft incidents in George Town. She is facing charges of Theft (seven counts), Causing Fear or Provocation of Violence (two counts), Carrying an Offensive Weapon (two counts), Resisting Arrest, Assaulting Police, Disorderly Conduct, Common Assault, Possession and Consumption of a Controlled Drug, and Possession of Drug Utensils.
The charges stem from incidents at a business on Main Street on 5 October; a business complex on North Church Street and a business on Cardinal Avenue on 9 October; a business on Shedden Road on 17 October; a business on Eastern Avenue on 1 November; a service station on Walkers Road on 3 November; and a restaurant on South Church Street on 10 November.
She appeared in court on Friday, 20 November, in relation to several of the charges, and was remanded in custody to reappear on Tuesday, 24 November, where she will answer the remaining charges.
