There’s a palpable feeling of relief rippling across Cayman amidst the remnants of gusty winds that swept across the islands over the past few days after what became Category 4 Hurricane Delta gave the islands an uncomfortably close shave.

The Cayman Islands Government declared a Tropical Storm Warning for the country at 4 p.m. today (Sunday, 4 October 2020).
If it continues to develop it will become Tropical Depression 26 as storm activity in the Caribbean Sea increases. This is expected as storms are known to develop in this region during the early and late months of the annual hurricane season
As the borders are gradually reopened that brings a corresponding risk of the COVID-19 virus therefore vigilance must remain high.
