250,000 IN PRIVATE SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE TO SUPPORT UCCI STUDENTS IN 2025

The University College of the Cayman Islands (UCCI) is proud to announce that $250,000 in private scholarships is available to support Caymanian students for the 2025 academic year.

Twenty-four leading local businesses and organizations have come together to invest in the education and future careers of young Caymanians, providing financial assistance across various disciplines, including business, STEM, arts, social sciences, and technical and vocational education.

These scholarships are designed to remove financial barriers for students and, in many cases, include internship opportunities, giving recipients real-world experience alongside their studies.

Notable contributions include:

Peter N. Thomson Scholarship – KYD 25,000 annually for students pursuing degrees in liberal arts, sciences, or social sciences.

Health City Cayman STEM Grant Programme – KYD 10,000 per year for students in STEM-related fields.

Royal Bank of Canada (Cayman) Ltd – KYD 20,000 for Caymanian students pursuing and associates or TVET degree.

Harmonic Fund Services – KYD 15,000 per year for Caymanian students in any discipline.

CIBC Cayman Bank Ltd Scholarship – KYD 15,000 per year for students pursuing associate or bachelor’s degrees including internship opportunities.

These scholarships reflect the commitment of Cayman’s corporate sector to helping UCCI to build a skilled and knowledgeable workforce. The contributions from Compass Media, The Joyce Hylton Memorial, Peter N. Thomson, Health City Cayman Islands, Rotary Club of Grand Cayman Sunrise, Cayman Mechanical Company Ltd, Consolidated Water, The Holiday Inn Resort, Polar Bear Air Conditioning, Warren Greene Ltd, Artex Risk Solutions, Browns Holdings Ltd, CIBC Cayman Bank Ltd, Cleaning Connection Ltd,  Digicel Cayman Ltd, Gallagher Risk Management, Greenlight Re, Harmonic Fund Services, Progressive Distributors Ltd, Richard Adam Oakley, Royal Bank of Canada Ltd, Helen Heaver Wren and Sterling Security Solutions, demonstrate a shared vision of empowering Caymanians through education.

Dr. Robert Robertson, President and CEO of UCCI, expressed his gratitude to the companies involved, “Education is the foundation of Cayman, and we are appreciative of the local businesses that have stepped forward to invest in our students. These scholarships not only provide financial support but also open doors to mentorship, internships, and career pathways that will benefit the Cayman Islands for generations to come.”
