A mother and daughter team learn about interpretive acrylic art from Local Artist Kara Julian
Kara Julian teaches a class on interpretive art at the Mission House in Bodden Town
Arts and Craft Classes are taught on the last Saturday of the month at the Mission House Historic Site in Bodden Town
An arts and craft workshop was hosted by Local Artist Kara Julian at the National Trust’s Mission House in Bodden Town on Saturday, 25th January.
The class focused on interpretive art pieces which can be incorporated into everyday life.
Using spiraled notebooks, Ms Julian taught the guests about how to mix the right colors and apply them to the canvas; in this case the front cover of the notebooks.
“We are working with acrylics and so the pieces are really practical art. You get to use them,” she told the participants.
Art classes are usually held at the Mission House on the last Saturday of the month and have even included a special ‘Tiny Desk’ performance by the Swanky Kitchen Band; known for their unique style of traditional Caymanian Music.
More information on craft classes at the Mission House can be found on the Mission House’s Facebook page, where persons can also book their spot/session.
