CAL adjusts operations due to hurricane warning and airport closures

Cayman Airways Limited (CAL) has been informed by the Cayman Islands Airport Authority (CIAA) that the Owen Roberts International Airport on Grand Cayman, as well as the Charles Kirkconnell International Airport on Cayman Brac, will be closing at 9am on Tuesday November 5, 2024 due to the projected path of Tropical Depression 18. With the Cayman Islands also being placed under a Hurricane Warning, Cayman Airways confirms the following changes to its flight schedule accordingly:

Tuesday November 5, 2024

Jet Service

Miami flights:

KX104 will now depart Grand Cayman at 8:30am

KX105 cancelled

All other scheduled jet flights will be cancelled.

Domestic Express Service

KX4003 will now depart Grand Cayman at 7am and arrive in Cayman Brac at 7:40am

KX4004 will now depart Cayman Brac at 8:05am and arrive on Grand Cayman at 8:45am

All other scheduled Express flights will be cancelled.

Changes to be announced based on official airport closure announcements

Passengers affected by flight cancellations due to this storm will be accommodated on flights to be scheduled after the "all clear" is given by the Cayman Islands Government, and applicable airports reopen.

As previously advised, customers with tickets for travel over the next few days should ensure that their reservations contain accurate contact details, including an email address and phone number, for the airline to be able to advise them directly of any updates if changes to the flight schedule become necessary. Customers can easily update their own contact details online at any time by visiting www.caymanairways.com and clicking on "Manage My Bookings" (under the main booking window) where they can enter their trip details and then edit their contact details under the "Passenger Details" section. Alternatively, the Cayman Airways Reservations Call Center can be reached by calling 345-949-2311. Customers residing in any of our international gateway cities may use an applicable toll-free number from this list to have a reservations agent assist:

CHANGE FEES WAIVED

As previously announced, Cayman Airways is waiving applicable change fees for passengers who wish to voluntarily adjust their travel plans. Those details can be found on the Cayman Airways website here: https://www.caymanairways.com/calpsa1-november-ts

CALL CENTER AND TICKET OFFICE HOURS

The airline’s ticket offices in Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac, as well as the main administration offices at CAL Headquarters on Grand Cayman, will be closed on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 until the "all clear" is issued. However, the Cayman Airways Reservations Call Center will open from 7am to 6pm with Customer Service Agents working remotely, and can be reached by calling: 345-949-2311; 1-800-422-9626 (toll free in the USA); 866-759-1372 (toll free in Jamaica); 800-2791-9422 (toll free in Honduras); 800-0195 (toll free in Panama).
