Twelve teams of four players each participated in Camana Bay’s first Golf Gather Give tournament, which this year raised funds for Meals on Wheels and R3 Cayman Foundation.

Golf tournament held Friday, 16 December saw 12 corporate teams participate to raise funds

The Camana Bay community has come together to raise CI$30,000 to support efforts to feed seniors in need, assist with disaster preparedness and investments in immediate response systems and equipment for the Cayman Islands.

The funds were raised at the first Golf, Gather, Give Camana Bay golf tournament at North Sound Golf Club on 16 December 2022, where CI$15,000 was donated to the R3 Cayman Foundation and matched by the Kenneth B. Dart Foundation. Of the CI$30,000, half will be donated to Meals on Wheels, which provides nourishing meals to seniors, while the other half will support the R3 Cayman Foundation’s focus on readiness efforts, assisting with disaster preparedness and investments in immediate response equipment and systems for the Cayman Islands.

The charity was selected in remembrance of Mr. Craig Arch, of Audi Cayman Islands and Arch Automotive and a long-standing member of the Camana Bay Town Centre community, who passed away earlier this month.

“The passing of Mr Craig Arch will leave a very big hole in our hearts and our everyday life at Camana Bay. Having reached out to our contributors, we have had an overwhelming response to direct funds raised as part of our Golf, Gather, Give initiative to Meals on Wheels to provide for those in need over the holiday season, in loving memory of Craig Arch,” said Dart Vice President of Business Development and Leasing, Kristy Rivers.

She also expressed thanks to the Kenneth B. Dart Foundation for matching the funding donated to the R3 Cayman Foundation. “This allows us to double the impact of the donation and contribute an overall CI$30,00 back to the local community before the close of 2022,” she said.

Participating were 12 teams, each consisting of four players, representing corporate tenants and guests at Camana Bay, including Crestbridge, Floreat, JTC Fund Services, Ogier, PwC and Waystone as well as the following sponsors Appleby, Cayman National Bank, Dart, Deloitte, EY, Intertrust and RBC Royal Bank.

The winning team was Deloitte, with Floreat and JTC Funds finishing in second and third place respectively. Special prizes were awarded for the following: Closest to the Pin - Jonathan Bernstein; Lady’s Longest Drive - Odette Samson and Men’s Longest Drive - Jonathan Bain.

Rivers said she envisages the Camana Bay Golf, Gather, Give golf tournament becoming an annual event.
