Caucus Secretary Nickolas DaCosta Steps Down from Post

The Office of the Premier has announced that Nickolas DaCosta, JP has stepped down from his position as Caucus Secretary, effective 17 January 2025.

Mr DaCosta joined the Office of the Premier in 2021 as the Content and Communications Coordinator where he oversaw the development and management of digital content and channels, ensuring that the Office’s communications were effectively disseminated across various media platforms.

In 2022, Mr DaCosta transitioned to the role of Caucus Secretary where he managed weekly Caucus meetings and served as a liaison with various ministries and portfolios. In this capacity, Mr DaCosta played a key role in the coordination, development and implementation of policy, fostering collaboration among internal and external stakeholders.

Reflecting on his time in the role, Mr DaCosta said “It has been my honour to support the political process within the executive branch of government since 2021. I wish to express my gratitude to the Premier and Caucus for affording me the opportunity to serve them in various capacities. It has also been a pleasure to compliment the work of the civil servants who dedicate their lives every day to supporting our democracy.”

The Premier, Honourable Juliana O’Connor-Connolly, expressed her gratitude to Mr DaCosta stating, “Nickolas is to be commended for his dedication, excellence and contributions to initiatives that have positively impacted the people of the Cayman Islands. The Caucus wishes to thank him for his service.”
