The Cayman Motoring Federation (CMF) is proud to announce the successful completion of its FIA Officials Training for National Sporting Authorities (ASNs) and its first-ever educational autocross event at Health City Cayman Islands on 23 November. These initiatives reflect CMF’s unwavering commitment to promoting safe and precision driving in the Cayman Islands.

The FIA training program, aimed at equipping local officials with the skills needed to ensure safer motorsport events, was a significant milestone for CMF. Participants completed modules focused on safety protocols, event management, and best practices, further enhancing CMF’s capacity to host high-quality motorsport events that adhere to national and international standards.

Daniel Coen, FIA Vice President of North America Sports visited the Cayman Islands for the final module of the Officials Training and the educational autocross. He said “The Cayman Motoring Federation’s commitment to advancing motorsport safety and education through initiatives like the FIA Officials Training and the educational autocross event is truly commendable. CMF is setting a benchmark for ASN development in the region. It’s exciting to see the enthusiasm from participants and the clear impact these programs have on promoting safe and enjoyable motorsport experiences in the Cayman Islands.”

On 23 November, CMF brought this emphasis on safety with its inaugural educational autocross event at Health City. The event was designed to foster safe driving habits and precision skills in a controlled, fun environment. Drivers navigated a specially designed course that challenged their focus, accuracy, and vehicle control, while CMF marshals, trained under the new FIA program, ensured the day ran smoothly and safely.

“Safety and skill development are at the heart of everything we do,” said CMF President Jane Scaletta. “The success of our officials training and autocross event underscores our commitment to cultivating a culture of responsible driving and motorsport excellence in the Cayman Islands.”

The autocross event drew drivers of all experience levels who enjoyed a safe and exciting day honing their skills. Participants left energized and eager to see what CMF has planned for 2025, with many expressing interest in upcoming events and further training opportunities.

The educational autocross event concluded with an awards ceremony, recognizing drivers for their outstanding performance and dedication to safe, precision driving throughout the day. Awards were presented for categories in “High Power/Exotics,” “Medium Power/Saloons,” and “Heavy/EVs” and highlighted the skills and progress demonstrated by participants. The camaraderie and sportsmanship among drivers were evident, as all participants celebrated each other’s achievements. The event left drivers inspired and eager to continue building their skills at future CMF events in 2025.

CMF thanks its partners, Health City Cayman Islands and the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), for their support in making these milestones possible. CMF also thanks Plastic Free Cayman for support in running a plastic free event to support CMF’s sustainability goal. As CMF looks to 2025, the organization remains dedicated to expanding opportunities for drivers, officials, and enthusiasts to engage with motorsport in a safe and enriching way.
