Cayman places 2nd Runner up at International Pageant

For the first time ever, with a packed ballroom at the Hotel Indigo, the Cayman Islands was the backdrop to the  Miss Global International 2024 pageant.

The 20th anniversary celebration was filled with excitement as the beautiful Arian Richmond of Guyana was crowned making her country proud and shining a spotlight on its rich culture and diversity. First runner up was awarded to the beautiful Selena Grant from the Turks and Caicos, who showcased her grace, poise, and intelligence and second runner up went to none other than our very own stunning representative, Caitlin Tyson from the Cayman Islands, who captivated the audience with her charm and elegance.  Tyson can now add an international pageant runner up to her resume, making her the first one to do that in over 30 years. In 2018 she captured the nations queen title of Miss Universe Cayman Islands.

The Cayman Islands shone bright like a diamond where 19 delegates from around the world stood tall on the stage representing their respective countries and showing the world the true essence of beauty and confidence. It was a moment of celebration for all of the beautiful and accomplished women as they basked in the glory of their achievements, leaving a lasting impression on the Cayman Islands and everyone watching on the live stream.

Top 10 honors went to Chile, Cayman Islands, Guyana, Turks and Caicos,  Latvia, Philippines, San Andres, India, USA and United Kingdom with Top 5 being Turks and Caicos,  Guyana, Philippines,  San Andres and Cayman Islands.

Special Awards of the evening were:

Miss Best Catwalk (Tied)

LATVIA and Turks and Caicos

Miss Social Impact

South Africa

Best in Swimwear

MISS POLAND

Miss Photogenic

TURKS and CAICOS

Miss Personality

INDIA

Special awards of Best smile, Best in gown, Best Talent, Miss Community Minded and Miss Congeniality all went to GUYANA.

The winners collectively enjoyed prize packages inclusive of cash and gifts, totalling over $25 000.

Along with the evening’s categories, the top three talents, that had competed against 13 of the other delegates two days earlier, were chosen to perform on stage at the Grand Coronation which included Cayman Islands,  Guyana and Philippines with each contestant giving it their all, and the prize  ultimately going to Guyana.

The week long journey in the Cayman Islands may have ended with this pageant, but the impact of a spectacular international pageant successfully executed by MGI National Director Catherine Tyson-Sewell. President and owner of Miss Global International Mr Lachman Ramchandani had this to say “it is a night to be remembered and with Tyson-Sewell having only 4 months to pull this together makes it more momentous. She had done a remarkable job and has raised the brand to another level. I am proud to say that this is a start to great partnership.”

The 19 queens return to their lives, along with the ones mentioned, to Argentina, Cuba, Hungary,  Luxembourg,  Peru, Poland, South Africa and Trinidad and Tobago,  with rich memories of the Cayman Islands from having tea with our Governor, her Excellency Mrs Jane Owens,  visiting with our senior citizens and 2 school visits, and among other things,  swimming with turtles, holding stingrays, learning how to do the quadrille and plaiting thatch rope and Elton a police escorted motorcade, a first for many!

The incredible young ladies will continue to inspire generations to come since their reign as Miss Global International in their countries for the next year has just started.  As for Miss Global International 2024, she will be busy promoting tourism and empowerment for women all over the world.

Elatedly thanking the Country Host organiser Tyson-Sewell, MGI President made a promise that  after the spectacular show that was put on at the Azure Ballroom of Hotel Indigo Cayman, there would be more stagings of the Miss Global International pageant on these gorgeous shores in the very best future.
