CHHS Boys secure second 2022 Dart Under 13 football title

The young men from Clifton Hunter High School (CHHS) secured the Dart Under 13 Boys’ football title this past week defeating Cayman Prep (1) 4-2 in a thrilling encounter at the CHHS Field in Frank Sound.

The CHHS boys emulated their female classmates in securing the coveted Dart Under 13 Boys’ title and in doing so, captured an unprecedented double for their proud school. The CHHS girls won the Dart Under 13 Girls’ title two weeks ago.

The CHHS boys’ triumphant season saw them finish undefeated with six wins and a draw over the seven-game season. They scored an impressive 33 goals while conceding only four. Their 4-2 win against Cayman Prep (1) opens the door for John Gray High School (JGHS) to secure second place and condemn Cayman Prep (1) to third. JGHS has one game remaining against Cayman Prep (2), which was played on Monday, October 31 at the CIFA Field. A win or draw would guarantee JGHS second place but a loss would secure second place for Cayman Prep (2) and a third place finish for JGHS.

In other scores in the Dart Under 13 Boys’ League, it was Cayman Academy 7 vs. Cayman Prep (2) 1.

The 2022 Appleby Under 18 Girls’ League kicked-off last week with JGHS and Triple C battling to a 1-1 draw. Games continue for the girls this Wednesday, November 2 with CHHS vs. Triple C at the CIFA Field and JGHS vs. St. Ignatius Catholic at St. Ignatius.

The Appleby Under 18 Boys’ League begins this Thursday, November 3 with three games scheduled: St. Ignatius Catholic vs. Triple C at the Annex Field, JGHS vs. Cayman Academy at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex and CHHS vs. Cayman International School (2) at the CHHS Field.
