The Maples Group has announced that one of its Partners, Christina Bodden, has been recognised in the 2024 edition of Hedge Fund Journal’s 50 Leading Women in Hedge Funds report. Impressively, the prestigious report names some of the world’s highest rated individuals working in the hedge funds industry.
Christina is a Funds & Investment Management Partner based in the Group’s Cayman Islands office, the largest funds practice by headcount and client base in the jurisdiction. With nearly 20 years’ experience working in the private funds space, Christina leads and mentors a team of five associates. In her role, Christina works cross-jurisdictionally across the Group’s internationally offices, such as London, Luxembourg, Hong Kong, Dublin, Dubai and BVI. She works extensively with major institutions, hedge funds and private equity managers, and their onshore counsel, advising on the operation of all aspects of investment funds.
Christina specialises in the structuring of private equity funds and advising on the related downstream transactions. She also works extensively with major institutions and hedge fund managers and their onshore counsel, advising on the structuring and ongoing operation of all aspects of investment funds. Additionally, Christina has particular expertise in hedge fund side letter arrangements and fund restructurings.
An active member of the philanthropic and financial services industry, Christina also sits on the Group’s Cayman Islands CSR Committee and Recruitment and Scholarship Committees. Impressively, Christina co-founded the Cayman Islands chapter of 100 Women in Finance (“100 WF”), previously serving on their Global Council and Global Association Board. In partnership with 100WF, she founded GirlForce100 which provided pre-career mentorship to over 800 female high school students in the Cayman Islands. Most recently, Christina joined the Executive Council and Board of AIMA Cayman, partnering with AIMA Global to launch CareerMasters, a new Cayman Islands non-profit organisation which provides pre-career mentorship to all Cayman Islands high school students between the ages of 15-18, with a focus on diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.
