Cayman Islands Department of Tourism Invites New Yorkers to Warm Up in Cayman This Winter Season

The Cayman Islands Department of Tourism (CIDOT) is targeting its sights on travellers from New York this Winter season with a branded bus promotion in New York City.

Between 11 December 2023 and 7 January 2024 five Hop On-Hop Off sightseeing buses will be Cayman Islands branded promoting the non-stop service via JFK and Newark Airport via Cayman Airways, Jet Blue and United. The buses feature several beautiful beach scenes, airline branding and encourage onlookers to “Warm Up in Cayman” this winter. The bus artwork also includes a QR code and onlookers who scan the code will be taken to the Cayman Islands website, visitcaymanislands.com, to learn more about the destination.

The bus route will include high profile attractions in the city including Time Square, Bryant Park and Washington Square and will visit prominent neighbourhoods including the West Village, SoHo and the Upper East Side.

Each bus is estimated to deliver more than 11 million advertising impressions during the 4-week campaign for a total of 56 million advertising impressions to tourists and new Yorkers with five buses.

The holidays are prime time for exposure in New York city so to further connect with potential visitors, the CIDOT USA team will ride the Cayman Airways branded bus over several days will hand out branded winter hats at various stops to warm up pedestrians. Each hat will include a postcard promoting the destination. On two special promotional days selected hats will contain a “golden ticket” valid for two round-trip flights to Cayman on Cayman Airways. A Caymanian musician will also board the bus to create a festive island atmosphere.
