Two years of lockdowns, isolation, masks, an entirely changed way of life has been our crucible to examine beneath the surface of events and experiences both locally and worldwide. People going missing and no leads for years, young people losing their lives, birth, joy, death and so many of the moments in between the bookends of life.
This is our 34th Annual Dance Performance, and takes place Mother’s Day weekend, signaling a return to our show season roots (24 of 33 seasons were held in May). This year’s show is about some of the things that we saw, thought about, and were moved by in the past couple of years. At the heart of it, both the new and legacy pieces reflect our dancers’ processing of a pandemic, human interest stories ripped from the news headlines, and the power of the human spirit under difficult circumstances. Even in the midst of such deep reflection, we always find ways to celebrate life through dance.
We are always grateful for the dancers, their families, and our enthusiastic audiences. We can’t wait to show you Dimensions!
