The Department of Labour and Pensions (DLP) is aware of employee/workers concerns at a job site on West Bay Road and can confirm that labour and pension investigations are currently underway.
The investigations are a result of spot checks initiated by DLP last month. DLP assists in matters relating to the Labour Act and the National Pensions Act and encourages persons to visit the office on the 2nd floor of Midtown Plaza to get assistance with his/her benefits or to make a complaint persons can call the confidential hot line at (345) 945 3073, email DLP@gov.ky or visit www.gov.ky/dlp .
As the matter is an open investigation, no further comments will be made.
Workforce Opportunities & Residency Cayman (WORC) also confirmed that investigations are ongoing relating to a job site on West Bay Road.
Information has been received regarding allegations of employees and employers working outside of the terms and conditions of their work permits.
This matter will be given the highest priority as WORC’s Compliance & Enforcement Officers continue with investigations.
