EDITORIAL. Tourism: Major Pillar of the Local Economy

The two main industrial drivers of the Cayman Economy are Banking / Financial Services and Tourism. They may also be considered as the pillars of our financial well-being as they provide support for the economic engine that feeds our existence.

Keeping Tourism in the forefront highlights its importance and provides the opportunity for readers to comment, review and suggest improvements that will benefit all residents of this island paradise.

We have chosen to highlight one of these two industrial giants, Tourism, for our next series titled “Spotlight on Tourism. The weekly Friday column is written by Brooke Meyer who is the managing partner of Caymera International, a Grand Cayman-based hospitality and tourism consulting and advisory firm.

Brooke has an unwavering commitment to mastering the dynamics of the hospitality industry – and sharing that wisdom with her peers, clients, and stakeholders.

There are lots of information that we wish to share to educate and empower our readers. Knowledge is power and as a media source, we will do our part to disseminate important information.”
