The Ministry of Education (MOE) is pleased to announce that the Edna M Moyle Primary School achieved a ‘Good’ rating from the Office of Education Standards (OES) in its October 2024 inspection. The achievement marks a notable improvement from the school’s ‘Satisfactory’ rating in November 2022.

Premier and Minister for Education, the Honourable Juliana O’Connor-Connolly, commemorated this achievement on Wednesday, 4 December with the unveiling of a celebratory banner at the school. She was joined by Ministers Johany ‘Jay’ Ebanks and Isaac Rankine, MOE Acting Chief Officer Ms. Lyneth Monteith, Acting Director of the Department of Education Services (DES) Mrs. Tammy Hopkins, other MOE and DES officials, school staff and PTA representatives.

“This is the first of our primary schools to receive a good rating, and so on behalf of the people of the Cayman Islands, I congratulate you all on this commendable achievement,” said the Premier, while urging school to continue on its upward trajectory.

“Here is a wonderful example of what happens when you work together with a common goal to find the things that work and address those that need improvement.”

The recent OES report commended the school’s exceptional community and parent engagement, attributing the improved rating to strong leadership and staff dedication.

Principal Ms. Daidre Tingle attributed the improved rating to years of sustained commitment from the entire school community.

“Ms. Tingle added, “Our school prides itself on providing equitable access to resources and tailored support systems, thereby empowering students from diverse backgrounds and abilities to reach their optimal levels of achievement. This commitment to inclusivity has been instrumental in fostering a culture of success that permeates every aspect of our academic environment.”

She also thanked the Ministry of Education and the Department of Education Services for their support, and pledged her team’s continued efforts to improving the lives of those in their educational community. Read More: www.gov.ky/education .
