Elections Office Reminds Public About 1 October Deadline

The Elections Office would like to remind the public that the next voter registration deadline is fast approaching. Individuals who wish to be included in the official register of electors for the upcoming quarter must submit their registration by Tuesday, 1st October 2024.

The official register of electors is published four times a year: on 1 January, 1 April, 1 July, and 1 October. These dates also serve as the registration deadlines for the official register published in the following quarter.

As a result, persons who register by Tuesday, 1st October 2024 will be officially added to the official register on 1st January 2025. Similarly, those who register by 1st January 2025 will appear on the official register published on 1st April 2025.

All eligible individuals who have not yet registered are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity and ensure their inclusion on the official register of electors in time for the next publication. Additionally, voters are urged to verify that the physical address listed on the registry is accurate to ensure they are registered in the correct electoral district.

Registering to vote is a vital step in participating in the democratic process and ensuring your voice is heard in future elections or referendums.

The next voter registration drive will be held tomorrow, Friday 27th September from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the Lobby of the Government Administrative Building. Those wishing to register must bring their Birth Certificate, Proof of Caymanian Status either Certificate or Letter and your Photo ID (Passport or Driver's License).
