Each city has its own charm and flavor; a list of attractions that make it unique. Tampa, Florida is no different. This southern city has an encyclopedia-sized list of things-to-do for locals and visitors alike. This feature seeks to highlight just a sampling of the offerings.
First of all, there are family-friendly attractions. Most people, even those who have never visited the area, are familiar with Busch Gardens, Florida Aquarium, and Zoo Tampa. However, there are so many more options. For instance, the Museum of Science and Industry, the Clearwater Aquarium (Home of Winter from the Dolphin Tale movies), Extreme Zip Line Adventures, Dolphin Exploration Tours, and a variety of helicopter city tours are legitimate choices for family entertainment.
For the sports fans, the area has several professional, semi-professional, and college teams in multiple sports. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tampa Bay Rays, Tampa Lightning, University of South Florida and University of Tampa are but just a few of the possibilities for fandom. The chance for one to participate in sporting/fitness activities also seems to have no limit. There are events and competitions throughout the Tampa area. These range from fun runs on the weekend to yoga and fitness classes to competitive leagues in just about every sport that exists.
For the adults who prefer a slightly different activity and/or atmosphere, there are alternatives as well. Food and drink festivals, speedboat rentals, music concerts, Zombie Scavenger events, comedy clubs, night clubs, and fishing excursions pepper the visitors with possibilities. Additionally, food establishments fill the city with menus that range from the common, everyday fare to the finest in international cuisine. Perhaps romance is on one’s mind. To that end, Tampa affords the chance to wow a partner or love interest. Some of these activities include finding colorful seashells at Honeymoon Island State Park, taking a Sunset Sail, making a visit to the iconic Tampa Theatre, having a chance to see the sunrise in a hot air balloon, or exploring Pinellas Park by horseback. If the likes of these don’t get the romantic juices flowing, there might be cause for concern.
If travel is on the table for this year, or next, it is definitely worthwhile to give the Tampa area a second look. With the chance to be as active or sedentary, social or private, as one chooses to be, a short flight from Grand Cayman on Cayman Airways could open up each prospect. Furthermore, our National Flag Carrier has continued to have the superior level of customer service we have all grown accustomed to. Ticket agents are standing by for your call, so don’t delay. Book your flight today.
