Thomas Bridgewater is a very busy young entrepreneur - the driving force behind Catalog345 and Everyday Elegance - a recent fashion show featuring the hottest- and coolest - local retailing outlets’ outfits. There was everything from casual sportswear, to elegant beachwear and partywear - expertly modelled by the very talented models who graced the catwalk (or runway, if you prefer planes to cats). It was a classy night with classy oldschool reggae hip-hop and R&B music thanks to Silver Palm Studios.
“It’s our first year –I’m really proud of my models – my 15 models and six vendors,” said Thomas, who had worked nonstop to get the show - at the Lions Centre on Saturday 15 June together. “The idea behind Everyday Elegance is that its everyday wear here in Cayman and its supporting local retail outlets here. We want to promote them as much as we can and put on a nice event for people to see. We’ve had a turnout of 150 people so I’m really proud of that. We’ve got Hot Zone Sport, Blue Rayz, Mar Candles, Reflections, Retrograde, and 90 Degree Fashion. Those are the six vendors. Then we’ve got Vivo Catering for food, Liquor for Less doing the drinks, and we’ve got Silver Palm Studios doing the music, the lighting and the video recording of the entire event.
First on the runway was Hot Zone Sports - elegant sportswear with warm Caribbean colours - peach and mango-sunset orange and yellow-golds - cool azure blues - and turquoises plus some nice creams and cottons to keep you cool when the zone’s hot.
Blue Rayz were chill-out fashion - to make your friends go “wow” when you walk into a party or evening beach-gathering. Like all the fashions during the evening - there was something for gentlemen and ladies, too. There were stylish shoulder-bags and other head-turning accessories.
Mar Candles were tasteful and elegant, cool and collected wear for fashion concious partygoers and people-about-town, and people-relaxing and having fun. The colours were deep and gorgeous and the movements flowing and fabulous.
90 Degrees was for turning heads - this collection was beautiful and amazing - elegant and classy evening-wear, casual-wear and the coolest clothes for the hottest days. Blazing Scarlets and flamingo-pinks rubbed shoulders with cool blues and emerald greens.
Retrograde clothes were cool, stylish and casual. Things you just want to slip into and wear all day.
Reflections need no introduction - their clothes for men and women and their great prices are always unbeatable.
