Saturday, April 30th, Pizza Hut 10, Digicel 7
Girls Softball resumed on Saturday, April 30th after a two week Easter break and an extra week off due to rain at the fields. Avah Connors and Sofia Watler each had RBI singles in a six-run 3rd inning as Pizza Hut outlasted Digicel, 10-7.
Withney Jackson and Sofia pitched two innings each for the victors, combining for six strikeouts and allowing just two hits. Rio Windsor, Hanna Jackson and Withney each scored two runs for Pizza Hut, as the team scored four in the 2nd and six in the 3rd.
Clara Ramos pitched a complete game for Digicel, striking out five and making a couple of good defensive plays as well. Madison Malice and Renell Parchment scored two runs apiece for Digicel, while Clara had 2 RBI. Digicel were missing a few key players but they gave a valiant effort and nearly pulled off the win.
Last Wednesday’s Digicel vs. Coldwell Banker game was postponed due to rain and it was rescheduled for Tuesday of this week.
Games will continue on Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout the month of May, and the girls will play their mini-tournament at the beginning of June.
