Shortly before 8:30PM on Wednesday, 5th February, officers responded to a report of a traffic collision involving a pedestrian on West Bay Road, south of Gecko Link. A woman had been using the crosswalk when she was struck by a vehicle, which then continued driving and left the scene. Emergency services attended the location and the woman was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to be discharged today.
The vehicle involved is described as a small white car with a registration number beginning with 188.
The matter is currently under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have any information is asked to contact the Traffic and Roads Policing Unit at 649-6254.
