HSA clinic & service relocations during upcoming facility improvements

The Cayman Islands Hospital will be conducting facility improvements on the main entrance atrium & within the Accident & Emergency (A&E) Department. Some services will be operating from alternate locations during this time in order to ensure continuity of care. Signage and security will be in place to direct patients.

Saturday 1st April – Sunday 2nd April

Patients & visitors and should access hospital through the side MRI door. The main entrance doors will not be accessible.

Urgent Care Clinic (located in the atrium) will be operational Saturday 8:30am – 1pm, closed on Sunday.

Phlebotomy (lab) will be accessible through the side MRI door on Saturday 1st April 7am – 12:30pm, closed Sunday.

Dialysis patients will access the unit through the side dialysis door. All scheduled patients will be contacted in advance.

Hospital Pharmacy will be closed. The pharmacy at Smith Road Medical Centre (150 Smith Road) will be open 9:00am – 5:30pm Saturday & Sunday.

All clinics and services will resume at their normal location on Monday 3rd April 2023.

Friday 7th April – Monday 10th April (Easter Weekend)

Patients & visitors and should access hospital through the side MRI door. The main entrance doors will not be accessible.

Urgent Care (walk-in) Clinic will operate from the General Practice Clinic at Smith Road Medical Centre (2nd Floor) daily 11am – 7pm. Open extended hours for the public holidays and Sunday.

Phlebotomy (lab) will be accessible through the side MRI door on Saturday 8th April 7am – 12:30pm. Closed Public Holidays & Sunday.

Dialysis patients will access the unit through the side dialysis door. All scheduled patients will be contacted in advance.

Hospital Pharmacy will be closed. The pharmacy at Smith Road Medical Centre (150 Smith Road) will be open extended hours daily 9am – 7pm.

All clinics and services will resume in their normal location on Tuesday 11th April.

Due to these upgrades, A&E walk-in patients may experience a delay in service and are reminded to use the A&E services in cases of emergency only to prevent congestion and reduce wait times. An emergency is a critical or life-threatening situation that needs urgent medical attention which may include:

Loss of consciousness

Persistent, severe chest pain

Breathing difficulties

Severe bleeding that cannot be stopped

Severe allergic reactions

Severe burns or scalds

Unexplained, acute drowsiness or disorientation

Less severe injuries and conditions can be treated at the Urgent Care Clinic which will be operating out of the General Practice Clinic at Smith Road Medical Centre 11am – 7pm, Friday 7th April – Monday 10th April.
