Civil servants, members of the Business and Professional Women’s Club and members of the public attended the Honouring Women Month Dress for a Cause event Friday (6 March 2020) outside Government Administration Building

Civil servants and members of the public attended the Honouring Women Month’s (HWM) Dress for a Cause photo opportunity on Friday (6 March 2020).

The shoot, part of the Family Resource Centre’s packed HWM programme, was led by Acting Deputy Governor Gloria McField-Nixon, Acting Chief Officer of the Portfolio of the Civil Service Lauren Knight, Acting Chief Officer for Health Nellie Pouchie and the Department of Counselling Services Director Judith Seymour.

This year’s HWM theme #EachforEqual, suggests that an equal world is a balanced world, was reflected in the equal sign made by supporters.

Members of the Business and Professional Women’s Club, who are currently focusing efforts on a review of pay parity between men and women, also attended.

“I am proud that the Civil Service management was represented at the Dress for a Cause by four women. It is symbolic of the importance our organisation puts in promoting gender parity in the workplace,” said Mrs. McField-Nixon.

Director of Counselling Services Ms Seymour agreed adding: “The Family Resource Centre is celebrating its 21st year of observing Honouring Women Month. The observance acknowledges the contributions of women past and present. 2020’s theme and activities also asks that all of us do what we can to move women’s economic, social and cultural rights forward.”
