The PTA of the Joanna Clarke Primary School (formerly Savannah Primary) and Pedro St. James will be hosting a Spring Fair on Saturday 8th May.

The fundraising event aims to give families the opportunity for some weekend fun on the Great Lawn of the national attraction.

“We invite families from across the island to come to the Spring Fair and enjoy an afternoon of activities on the lawn. Mothers can especially enjoy this event with their children as its just prior to Mother’s Day,” said PTA president Michelle Powell.

Organizers have planned several activities that will keep little ones busy including lawn games, a bouncy castle and even a dunk tank.

“One of the things we are excited about for this event is the inclusion of Big Boy Toys Cayman and their Radio Control Car racing track which will be in the centre of all the action,” added Mrs. Powell.

Hungry visitors can look forward to a fish fry and bake sale while little ones will be tempted by sweet and salty treats like cotton candy, sno cones and fresh popped popcorn.

The always animated and talented Virginia Foster, also known as ‘Auntie V’ will be taking children on an adventure with her costumed storytelling and leading the arts and crafts area inside the famous Pedro Gazebo.

“We are also hosting a raffle. Our tickets are only $5.00 and with lots of prizes from supermarkets, spas, arts, movies and more. All courtesy of many generous businesses, we know the winners will leave with an extra gift to give to their mom the next day!” said Erin Bodden, PTA member.

Funds raised from the sale of food and raffle tickets will benefit the school’s canteen and to cover lunch costs for children who need hot meals throughout the school year.

Staff and management at Pedro St James are proud to hold the joint event for families in the Savannah area and beyond.

“We are always looking for unique ways to partner with our clients. While Pedro is mostly thought of as a wedding location, we are versatile in what we offer on our 7-acre property,” said Adriana Turner, Pedro St. James administrative officer.

Mrs. Turner encourages anyone who may be interested in booking the site to contact her on admin@pedrostjames.ky or 947-3329 to share their ideas.

The Spring Fair runs from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm and entry is only CI$5.00 per person; children five and under are free.
