International Women’s Day is just a few weeks away, being celebrated the world over on 8th March. The theme for this year’s celebration is ‘Inspire Inclusion’. The organisation running the global celebration of women asks us to imagine a gender equal world, a world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that’s diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated.
At the Caymanian Times, it is our mission to always promote diversity, equality and inclusivity, and so in celebration of International Women’s Day we are running a series of articles focusing on some of our incredible female sports people, who have made such a difference to their chosen sport over the years. To properly promote the Inspire Inclusion theme, we have chosen women to highlight who are of a wide range of ages, some of whom are aged 70 and above.
These articles lead up to a special edition of the Caymanian Times to be published on 8th March which will feature a dedicated pullout section featuring stories highlighting the incredible women, both past and present, who have helped to build the Cayman Islands into the success story it is today.
