Junior Achievement is offering a unique opportunity for volunteers to become host sponsors and advisors for the relaunch of the Company programme in Grand Cayman this September. As business advisors, volunteers will guide 16- 18-year-olds as they form their own company, operated by their board of directors, and create, market, and sell unique items and products they market. The sessions take place at the volunteers chosen location.

When past advisors were asked what impact, they felt their role had on the students of the Company Programme, one advisor said, “The students came with theoretical knowledge of running a business and keeping books and records, I feel my mentorship supported the work to put it in practice.”

Another advisor also mentioned “We do play a vital role. The students start off very separated and at the end, they become a family, enjoying each other’s company, working well together.”

If you’re interested in volunteering to help the next generation of Cayman’s youth, here’s how you can get started. Contact Swan Sandoval at the Chamber of Commerce by phoning on 743 9124 or emailing swan.sandoval@caymanchamber.ky . Alternatively, you can complete the application form on the Junior Achievement website: https://www.jacayman.ky/volunteer

The JA Company Programme is open to students 16-18 years old who are enrolled in full-time secondary studies. Although the programme begins in October, there is a time for training, so applications, the required Darkness to Light training, and police clearance must be completed by the end of August.
