Leadership Cayman’s Class of 2024 celebrated their graduation in style - with a dinner at the Cayman Islands Yacht Club on Saturday 13 July. It was the culmination of six months of transformative seminars, retreats and workshops which connected LC students with Cayman’s top leaders from key industries, institutions and professions.

Their journey began in January with a three-day retreat in Cayman Brac, and continued with seminars and onsite visits covering healthcare, culture & heritage, education, financial services, criminal justice, technology, media, sustainability & the environment, education and immigration & workforce development.

First off, we want to express our deepest gratitude to the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce. Their vision in creating this programme, and their ongoing investment in developing our future leaders, deserves our praise,” said Emcees Craig Bodden and Lisa Parks, “Since 2010, the Chamber has championed Leadership Cayman, ensuring its success year after year. We are incredibly grateful.”

“We also want to recognize our amazing sponsors who are here tonight, Cox Lumber (now AL Thompson), RBC and Wheaton Precious Metals. Your contribution helps make this whole programme possible. Thank you for joining us as we celebrate our success!”

Chamber Vice President and LC Alumni member Cristina Spratt reflected on her own LC journey when she undertook the programme in 2015 and encouraged the graduates to continue to stay connected: “From today you will make up part of the 361 Alumni of Leadership Cayman. As Alumni you are part of an elite group of people who will have the privilege of participating in exclusive events and activities. I hope that you have enjoyed your LC experience and the friendships you have made along the way,” she said.

Class Chairperson Ravi Campbell congratulated all the graduates, encouraging them to make the most of staying connected through future alumni events.

“We did it!” Said Valedictorian Brittany McVicar, “The past six months have been transformative for all of us, pushing us beyond our comfort zones and challenging us to grow in unexpected ways. I can confidently tell you this evening what I have discovered through this programme is that: ‘You can’t do it alone.’ As you navigate through the rest of your life, be open to collaboration. “

The Chamber’s Swan Sandoval thanked everyone who had made this year’s Leadership Cayman such a success: “Lastly, I implore you to recommend this programme to your friends, family and colleagues. Your help in the promotion of this programme will help ensure that Cayman will have more future leaders,” she said.
