LOCAL RIDER WINS 2019 CHAMPIONSHIP IN INTERNATIONAL DRESSAGE COMPETITION
Juliette Forrester and her horse Monty were recently awarded the 2019 Rider Championship after competing in an International online dressage completion.
The Worldwide Dressage competition is run by ‘Dressage Anywhere’ a UK based company established in 2010 that now boasts members from 84 different countries around the globe.
A relatively new partnership – Forrester and Monty have only been competing together for a couple of years and train weekly at Cayman Riding School – located on Hirst Road in Savannah.
Several other riders from Cayman Riding School take part in the monthly competition with Tracey Rose winning the 2019 British Dressage Championship on her horse Dusty - British Dressage is the organization which oversees all affiliated dressage competitions and training in the United Kingdom.
During the 2019 season - The Cayman Riding team competed against other 32 teams from across the world in the Team Challenge with the Champions and Reserve Champions both from Qatar and tying on final points so narrowly pushing the CRS team into 3rd place.
“It’s a great competition” said Tracey Rose (owner and riding instructor at CRS) “it gives our young riders the opportunity to compete against riders from all over the world without the challenging logistics and huge expense that often comes when competing on an international basis. We pride ourselves on not being elitist and have riding programs suitable for absolutely everyone regardless of background or ability – most of our riding school ponies have been rescued and rehabilitated – which we are especially proud of”.
