The Cayman Islands Tennis Club proudly hosted the fourth KPMG Junior Tournament of the year, welcoming 26 talented young players across four categories: U10, U12, U14, and U18. The tournament’s initial rounds commenced on Saturday, June 1st, with the final rounds thrilling spectators and participants alike on Sunday, June 2nd.
Beginning on Saturday, June 1st, the tournament showcased young competitors’ impressive skill and determination. The excitement reached its pinnacle during the championship rounds on Sunday, June 2nd, culminating in thrilling matches that determined the champions.
In an impressive display at the Under-10 draw, Poppy Begg-Smith successfully defended her title, securing a decisive victory over her brother, Jasper Begg-Smith, with scores of 4-1 and 4-0.
In the U12 category, Jackson Shambaugh emerged victorious, defeating Jackson Pavlovic with an impressive score of 6-3, 6-2.
Alex Johnson triumphed in the U14 category, securing the trophy with a decisive 6-3, 6-3 victory over Noah Rajamohan in the final match.
In the U18 round-robin draw, Elias Drobac emerged as the champion, securing first place, with Mico Samson finishing as the impressive runner-up.
