Motor Vehicle Collision Involving a Pedestrian in Cayman Brac

Just after 8:15AM on Monday, 12 October, police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a blue Toyota Fortuna and a female pedestrian in the area of Cemetery Road and West End Road in Cayman Brac.

The pedestrian was attended to by Emergency Medical Services who attended the location along with the police and transported the pedestrian to the Faith Hospital for treatment. Her injuries are believed to be serious and life threatening at this time and she has since been medically evacuated to the Grand Cayman by the RCIPS helicopter for further treatment. No other injuries were reported from this incident.

The east bound lane along West End Road is currently closed in the area where the collision took place. Motorists are being asked to proceed with caution or avoid that area if possible while the officers carry out their enquiries. Officers from the Traffic Management Unit flew over to Cayman Brac to assist with the investigation.
