On Wednesday 18 September, various RCIPS units including Uniform Operations, Firearms Response, K9, and Community Policing were joined by Assistant Commissioner of Police, Rob Atkin MBE, on a series of targeted operations to locate and arrest a number of known offenders. The operations were supported by officers from Department of Agriculture (DoA) and Customs and Border Control (CBC).
Four search warrants were carried out, including two firearm warrants.
At one residential address, a man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm with intent, being a member of a criminal gang and other charges. At a second residential address, a second man was arrested for the same offences. A search of the second residence resulted in the arrest of a fourth man, for possession of ganja with intent to supply and consumption of ganja.
A third search warrant, resulted in the arrest of a man for possession and consumption of a controlled drug, possession of an imitation firearm, being a member of a criminal gang, and cruelty to animal by DoA officers. The third men arrested for membership of a criminal gang are those that were involved in a viral YouTube video, which was reported yesterday.
The fourth search warrant involving CBC officers, took place at a residential address and did not result in any illegal substances located.
A simultaneous warrant drive resulted in the arrest of one male, for failing to appear at court and gang disruption tactics were carried out in hotspot areas including King Road, Duxies Lane, Watercourse Road, Mary Mollie Drive, and West Bay Public Beach.
In addition, a community clinic was held at centennial towers where officers interacted with members of the public sharing personal safety information and how best to secure their properties and businesses.

This includes a number of search warrants being executed, suspects arrested, and other community concerns being addressed through visible community engagement. We will continue to respond and listen to community concerns to ensure that our community remains safe and feels safe.
