Police Investigate Juveniles experiencing suspicious medical issues

Shortly after 7:45PM, on Monday 7 October, police responded to a residential address in East End, where a juvenile was found unresponsive. It was reported to police that the juvenile had ingested a drug. Shortly after, EMS arrived at the scene and transported the juvenile to the George Town Hospital.

Subsequently, police received a report of a second juvenile, an associate of the first juvenile, who was displaying similar symptoms, and whose parent was also transporting him to the hospital.

Both juveniles, on arrival at the hospital, were treated by the attending doctor and have been since released to their guardians.

Parents are being encouraged to monitor their children’s activities and behaviors. If you have any suspicions or concerns about drug use, you are encouraged to contact the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) at 649-6000.

The matter is currently under investigation by Bodden Town CID. Anyone with any information about the incident, particularly in relation to the drugs and their origin, is asked to contact 947-2220.
