Effective Friday, December 17th, customers will find reduced prices on a variety of essential items, including diapers, feminine-hygiene products, and baby food. This following Cabinet’s announcement on November 23rd that duties would be waived on these products.
“We’re able to immediately reduce prices on products ordered from overseas suppliers, and customers can expect to see these changes from today”, says Julian Foster, Marketing Senior Manager. “However, because local vendors often order enough stock to last 2-3 months, we won’t see price changes on some items until January. Of course, as they’re able to amend their pricing, we’ll then be able to pass on the savings to customers.”
Nearly 550 products will be affected across all Foster’s Supermarket and Priced Right locations.
“Foster’s is appreciative, on behalf of its customers, to this government and governments before it who have passed on duty concessions to the community. We will pass on this benefit to our customers as quickly as we can, as we have always done.” says Woody Foster, Managing Director. “We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Healthy and Happy New Year!”
Customers with questions regarding price changes on essential items can speak to team members in store, email info@fosters.ky, or contact us on Foster’s’ and Priced Right’s social media channels (@fosterscayman & @pricedrightcayman).
