Rotary Club of Grand Cayman Sunrise Car Raffle Postponed

Each year, the Rotary Club of Grand Cayman Sunrise (Rotary Sunrise) puts on an annual car raffle fundraiser, in an effort to raise funds for various service projects the club participates in, that directly benefit the community.

This year, due to the COVID-19 Shelter-in-Place restrictions from March 2020 and other safety concerns, our abilities to sell raffle tickets at our usual locations around the island was affected and thus, we regret to announce that we are postponing the raffle draw which was scheduled for May 2nd 2020 to a later date in 2020. The new date for the car raffle draw will be announced in short course.

The proceeds from this year’s raffle will not only go towards some of our usual community projects, but will also benefit our new efforts directed at offering support to our community during this global pandemic.

Since March 13th, 2020, Rotary Sunrise has stepped up to offer a helping hand wherever possible. The club donated Foster's gift cards to the Department of Children and Family Services to assist those children and families who would have normally received meals through the schools. The club has also collaborated with the Cayman Islands Red Cross to coordinate laptop donations that assist Public School Students with participation in Online Classes, and has organized a short story competition for students in the Cayman Islands from age 7-18, to keep them engaged and offer a constructive way to spend this time at home.

Rotary Sunrise would like to thank its members and volunteers who continue to offer support to the club and the community during this time. We understand how difficult and stressful this may be, but we are in this together and we will get through it together.
